
We're having a discussion around the camp fire regarding how one might describe the reporters, pundits, and analysts who have littered the Internet with stories about "Inspire" magazine - an alleged English-language publication from al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (i.e. Anwar al-Awlaki & Co.) which is no more than a cover page, a table of contents, and a note from the editor, 63 of the document's 67 pages being unreadable.

These folks are matched on the other side by jihadis who think munged text is a computer virus, and panic-stricken forum administrators who would prefer to shoot themselves first and ask questions later.
Perhaps ergotism is making a comeback...
