Muslim Voice Staff When the Tsunami disaster struck Muslim families in south East Asia, the students of Arizona Culture Academy answered the call and rushed to help. They emptied their piggy banks, brought their allowances, and lobbied their families to participate. In five days, $8,014.00 was collected and given to the Representative Imam Omar Shahin of the Kind Hearts Organization.

You mean that KindHearts Organization?

KindHearts officials and fundraisers have coordinated with Hamas leaders and made contributions to Hamas-affiliated organizations. Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) Usama Hamdan, a leader of Hamas in Lebanon, reportedly phoned a top fundraiser for KindHearts during a September 2003 KindHearts fundraiser. During the call, Hamas leader Hamdan reportedly communicated to the fundraiser his gratitude for KindHearts' support. The KindHearts fundraiser reportedly also provided advice to Hamdan, telling him not to trust the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

I'm amazed the man is even allowed to enter an airport...

But wait, there's more :-)

The freezing of the charity's assets was directly related to this:

ATTORNEY GENERAL GONZALES: Good afternoon. I'm joined by FBI Deputy Director John Pistole, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, Greg White, and Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher of the Criminal Division.

The Justice Department is charging Mohammad Zaki Amawi, Marwan Othman El-Hindi, and Wassim Mazloum with conspiracy to commit terrorist acts against persons or individuals overseas and with providing material support to terrorists. Their efforts to engage in this type of violent jihad or holy war occurred in Toledo, Ohio over the last year. Amawi is also charged with two counts of making verbal threats against the President.

Let me be clear about why criminal charges such as these are important in our fight against terrorism. We cannot wait until an attack happens. We will continue to use our criminal laws as Congress intended, to charge individuals once they conspire to provide support to terrorism or conspire to kill abroad.

Documents seized by federal agents suggest that two of three Muslim men accused of plotting to kill American and allied soldiers may have ties to a Muslim charity suspected of funneling money to the militant organization Hamas.

Federal agents seized an invoice from the Toledo charity, known as KindHearts, from a travel agency where defendant Mohammad Zaki Amawi worked. Agents also took a KindHearts binder from an address where defendant Marwan Othman El-Hindi lived.

Lists of items seized were filed yesterday in U-S District Court in Toledo. The three suspects -- El-Hindi, Amawi and Wassim I- Mazloum -- were arrested last weekend. All have pleaded not guilty to charges including conspiring to kill Americans.

It's a mighty small world, now isn't it...
